As part of its ongoing 21st Century Exploration Roadmap (21CXRM) initiative, the UK Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) has released the South West (SW) Approaches study undertaken by Getech.
The project uses Getech’s market-leading gravity and magnetic compilations (pictured below) across the UK SW Approaches and Western Europe area to develop a regional coverage of structural elements, sediment thickness and crustal thickness for the study area.
The data includes Getech’s industry leading Multi-Satellite offshore gravity data and an innovative integration of 3D gravity and magnetic inversion methods for Depth to Basement.
The release of this study coincides with the release of new seismic, gravity and magnetic data along with reprocessed legacy seismic data and well data. The new data and studies provide valuable insight to companies wanting to identify new prospects ahead of the 31st offshore licensing round in 2018, as highlighted by OGA principal regional geologist Jo Bagguley.
