Richard started his career with General Electric (GE) in Australia and Asia Pacific. He has subsequently gained more than 20 years entrepreneurial experience in the technology and renewable energy sectors developing high growth companies. He is currently chairman of Sunbird Bioenergy, a producer of low-carbon fuels in Africa. He holds several Non-Executive directorships including AIM listed MTI Wireless Edge and Hong Kong listed China New Energy. Previously he was a director of Coms plc, Virtual Internet plc and NASDAQ listed J2 Global Inc.
Jonathan Copus
Chief Executive Officer
Jonathan has extensive industry, corporate finance and capital markets experience, having worked as an Exploration Geologist at Shell, as the top-rated Exploration & Production Sell-side Equity Analyst at a number of City companies (including Investec and Deutsche Bank) and most recently as Chief Financial Officer at Salamander Energy plc, which was acquired by Ophir plc in 2015. Jonathan has a PhD from the University of Cambridge and a First-Class BSc in Geology from the University of Durham.
Andrew Darbyshire
Finance Director
Andrew joined Getech in 2014 as the Group’s Finance Manager. Since then he has worked tirelessly to strengthen the financial control environment and enhance the quality of information on which the Executive Committee and Board base their decisions. Andrew also took a leading role in the acquisition of both ERCL and Exprodat.
Chris Jepps
Chief Operating Officer
Chris joined Getech in 2016 at the time of the acquisition of Exprodat, where he led the development of geospatial software products. As Getech’s Products Director Chris has been the driving force behind the operational repositioning of our products division. With both service and product leadership now reporting to Chris, the role of Chief Operating Officer is positioned to drive further product growth and to enhance the profitability and positioning of our services.
Stuart Paton
Non-Executive Director
Stuart holds a number of advisory roles, including with Berwicks Consulting Ltd and GLG. He has previously been the Technical and Commercial Director and CEO of Dana Petroleum, delivering a number of acquisitions for them. Before joining Dana, he held a number of roles at Shell. Stuart has a BA in Earth Sciences and a PhD in Geology from Cambridge University
Michael Covington
Non-Executive Director
Michael is an experienced renewable energy and cleantech investment director and consultant and has a breadth of experience that is directly relevant to the energy transition. He co-founded Solar Securities, one of the UK’s earliest solar energy project developers, acted as a corporate adviser to numerous energy transition sector participants, and held a number of non-executive board positions including with Enertechnos Holdings Ltd., an IP driven power transmission technology player. Michael has also been an active investor at all stages of the value chain in European CleanTech & Renewables with Sustainable Investments Capital, a Barcelona based private equity fund.
Emma Parker

Emma has more than 17 years’ experience as an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and mining operations specialist. Emma is currently Principal in charge of Sustainable Business Opportunities at Anglo American PLC, a multi-national, multi-commodity mining company. At Anglo American, Emma is responsible for identifying and delivering commercial value, leveraging Anglo American’s sustainability practices across areas of business development, marketing and finance. In particular, her role focuses on leading innovative approaches to sustainability-led value creation.
