Sustainability

In recognition of the commercial and societal importance of sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”), Getech’s focus is to both help our customers deliver their ESG commitments and to define and live by our own ESG principles.

At Getech, sustainability is not a standalone initiative – it is embedded in our strategy, culture and day-to-day decision making. Our mission is to enable energy and mineral security while supporting the global transition to low-carbon resources. We achieve this by combining world-leading geoscience, advanced geospatial technology and responsible business practices across our operations.

Our approach is built around two pillars: Planet and People. Together, they ensure that we minimise our environmental impact, strengthen our communities and create long-term value for our shareholders, partners and clients.

Planet: Innovating for a Sustainable Future

Our core expertise lies in subsurface intelligence. As the world progresses towards low carbon, we apply these capabilities to identify and evaluate the resources required for decarbonisation, including natural hydrogen, critical minerals, geothermal heat and carbon storage.

Recent research and development achievements include:

  • New workflows for locating natural hydrogen using Mineral Systems Analysis
  • Expanded workflows for sedimentary-hosted lithium and porphyry copper exploration
  • Enhanced geophysical approaches that support geothermal screening and CO₂ storage assessment
  • Application of AI and machine learning technology to multiple resource location workflows

These innovations underpin our commitment to providing customers with reliable, evidence-based solutions that support the energy transition.

People: Empowering Our Workforce and Communities

Our people are central to Getech’s success. We are committed to creating a workplace that is safe, inclusive and supportive of long-term career development.

Health, safety and wellbeing

We invest in a wide range of initiatives to promote physical and mental wellbeing, including:

  • Regular health and safety training
  • Mental health and wellbeing assistance
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Financial advice from wealth management specialists
  • Life, medical and travel insurance
  • Bereavement support
  • Gym and physiotherapy discounts

Our Cycle to Work and Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice schemes also support employee wellbeing while contributing to decarbonisation goals.

We encourage a strong sense of community through sports and social activities, including a staff-led social club.

Equality, inclusion and diversity

We foster a culture in which every employee is valued and respected. Our Equality and Inclusion Policy outlines clear expectations for all staff and leaders.

Key commitments include:

  • Equal opportunities for progression through a robust appraisal process
  • Continuous training to ensure every employee can reach their potential

By evaluating performance based on merit and providing clear development pathways, we ensure that diverse perspectives and experiences strengthen our organisation.

Community engagement

Since 2016, our staff have volunteered with MapAction, providing mapping and data support for emergency responses to natural disasters worldwide. We continue to expand our community involvement through charitable partnerships and staff-led initiatives.

Our Commitment

Sustainability is central to Getech’s purpose: to unlock the Earth’s subsurface resources in a way that supports global energy security and accelerates the transition to low-carbon systems.

We will continue to minimise our environmental footprint, invest in our people and develop technologies that shape a more resilient, sustainable future for the customers and communities we serve.
