Gravity Data

A cost-effective component of your integrated exploration programme for anywhere in the world

High quality proprietary gravity data provides unique insights into subsurface structure and composition

An essential partner to seismic, well and magnetic data in hydrocarbon, mining and geothermal projects, this continually updated global database is the product of recovering, carefully reprocessing and merging data from thousands of individual surveys and over 10 million unique gravity stations.

Our unparalleled onshore coverage is augmented by our industry-leading Multi-Sat gravity offshore. Multi-Sat integrates data from six radar altimeters together with our innovative processing methods and has resulted in the most accurate and internally coherent satellite derived gravity, free from line noise, for all offshore areas plus the world’s largest inland lakes, providing resolution comparable to regional 2D shipborne gravity data, globally.

Global gravity grids are also available to license via our Maptium G&M product.

Conduct regional to block-scale analysis to enhance your understanding of subsurface geology.

  • Identify location and extents of sedimentary basins
  • Highlight local intra-basin depocentres and structural highs
  • Quantify depth and extent of ore bodies
  • Map structural lineaments and combine these with geological data to enhance understanding of basin evolution and prospectivity
  • Diminish uncertainties in seismic interpretations with 2D modelling and 3D inversion
  • Map extents of anomalous bodies that traditionally attenuate seismic energy (such as ore bodies, intrusive volcanics and evaporite diapirs) and image features below them

Our high-quality data and derivative products provide a reliable and robust framework for your detailed analysis.

  • Extend interpretations over large areas away from expensive seismic and well data
  • Evaluate areas prior to embarking on costly seismic acquisition and avoid wasted investment
  • Fully understand the availability, quality and resolution of data already acquired before embarking on new acquisition
  • Understand the nature of crust and basin-fill composition
  • Target locations for minerals exploration
  • Integrate your proprietary data into a robust, self-consistent regional framework
