A recent initiative launched by the Leeds Branch of Samaritans called “Money for nothing”, whereby donations of surplus or unwanted foreign coins and notes are donated to the Charity has seen a contribution of almost £600 in value from the Getech Group.
Andrew Darbyshire, Finance Director of Getech Group plc said “We are extremely happy to support the Samaritans of Leeds 2017 fund-raising drive by making this donation of various foreign monies. Our global client-base means our staff regularly travel worldwide and we are often left with relatively small amounts of currency from the various countries they have visited. It is excellent that this money can now be put to good use supporting a local branch of a national charity which does so much good work!”
Leeds Samaritans Branch Director, Alwyne Greenbank thanked the Company for their support in this way, and emphasised that help such as this need not cost people actual money “Anyone can clear out their travel wallets, change trays or pockets of loose foreign change – be it current or obsolete; and the same goes for outdated British money too. We can convert this for the benefit of Samaritans, and help ensure that our 24/7 emotional support service to anyone who needs to talk is maintained and enhanced; we look to other individuals and Companies in our City to respond to our appeal and to donate in this way”
