Getech, experts in helping organisations to discover and manage natural resources, will be on the Campus Biotech in the Swiss city of Geneva between April 17th to 19th 2018, to attend the GIS for a Sustainable World Conference and Exhibition, co-hosted by UNITAR-UNOSAT and Esri.
The focus of this year’s conference will be exploring how to apply Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to people, planet, prosperity, and peace in a way that can help to meet the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development as outlined in the 2020 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Following a Keynote introduction session, which will include talks from the Lebanese Red Cross, the Kohler Company and the Centre for Humanitarian Demining, the conference will move to peer-to-peer exchanges, lightning sessions, and networking events—all created to empower the attending organisations to achieve the stated goals.
During the Conference, Getech will present how the Esri ArcGIS Platform can be optimised to help organisations better discover, develop and manage natural resources in support of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
Commenting on her company’s attendance in Geneva, Getech Sales and Marketing Director Jules Cullen said; “Getech works with many governments and aid agencies around the world. Esri’s GIS for a Sustainable World Conference provides a unique opportunity for us to further explore how our combination of geoscience and geospatial skills can be used to help meet the UN’s Sustainable World Goals. At this conference, we will share our experience in using ArcGIS common patterns of use to extract long-term benefit from borehole drilling programs that can identify clean and accessible water for those who need it most.”
