Getech’s Lunch and Learn on Sub-Saharan Africa

By March 29, 2016 No Comments

Join us from 12:30 on Wednesday 13 April in London for this informative lunch and learn event. The topic is ‘Using global and regional understanding to solve basin-scale problems in Sub-Saharan Africa’. Getech is providing this event as a free technical exchange.

Getech’s Dr Andy Quallington will present aspects of our New Ventures workflow, Globe, using examples from Sub-Saharan Africa. Andy will demonstrate how our extensive gravity and magnetic data underpin our structural mapping, crustal architecture and plate modelling. He will also share insights from our palaeogeographic mapping, palaeolandscape modelling and drainage analysis work for the African continent.

Getech has frequently extolled the importance of understanding the regional geological context of a sedimentary basin in order to better understand its structural and sedimentary architecture – Andy will explain why this approach is important in the current era of tight exploration budgets.
