Geodynamicist / Plate Modeller


GETECH is looking to hire a geodynamicist with experience of plate tectonic modelling to join our rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary team of geoscientists. GETECH has a growing international reputation in tectonics and plate modelling and client demand for our services is increasing. The successful candidate will work within the Structural Geology Group.

The post is based in our head office in Leeds, close to the Yorkshire Dales, and offers the opportunity for world-wide travel to the offices of our international clients. A competitive salary, commensurate with industry standards and the individual's experience, would be offered.

The ideal candidate will:

  • ·         Demonstrate a sound understanding of the underlying mechanisms of tectonics and basin dynamics

  • ·         Hold a higher degree in Geology or Geophysics (at least MSc level)

  • ·         Have strong numeracy and IT skills

  • ·         Possess excellent communications skills and be fluent in English

 

The role will include the following:

 

·         Providing tectonic and geodynamics support for our regional and basin-scale petroleum studies

·         Plate tectonic modelling using PaleoGIS and gPlates

·         Developing geodynamic models of passive margins

·         Coordinating and writing reports

·         Visiting and interacting with clients(including international travel)

Structural Geologist


GETECH is looking to hire a structural geologist to join our rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary team of geoscientists. GETECH has a growing international reputation in tectonics and plate modelling and client demand for our services is increasing. The successful candidate will work within the Structural Geology Group.

  • ·         Have a proven knowledge of structural geology, especially rift geology

  • ·         Have experience at regional and local scale

  • ·         Hold a higher degree in Geology or Geophysics (at least MSc level)

  • ·         Have strong numeracy and IT skills

  • ·         Possess excellent communications skills and be fluent in English

 

The role will include the following:

 

·         Providing structural support for our regional and basin-scale petroleum studies

·         Structural restoration using MOVE and 2D MOVE

·         Developing geodynamic models of passive margins

·         Coordinating and writing reports

·         Visiting and interacting with clients(including international travel)

Interpretation Geophysicist


GETECH is looking to hire an interpretation geophysicist (potential fields) to join our rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary team of geoscientists. GETECH has a long history in potential fields geophysics and is now looking to expand this group due to increased client demand for our services. The successful candidate will work within the Geophysics Division.

The post is based in our head office in Leeds, close to the Yorkshire Dales, and offers the opportunity for world-wide travel to the offices of our international clients. A competitive salary, commensurate with industry standards and the individual's experience, would be offered.

The ideal candidate will:

·         Have demonstrable experience of the application of gravity and magnetic methods to oil and gas exploration

·         Have an understanding of the tectonics and structural evolution of passive margins

·         Be familiar with the use of Geosoft Oasis Montaj and ESRI ArcGIS software

·         Hold a higher degree in Geology or Geophysics (at least MSc level)

·         Have strong numeracy and IT skills

·         Possess excellent communications skills and be fluent in English

 

The role will include the following:

 

·         Structural and tectonic interpretation of gravity and magnetic data at regional and basin scales

·         Developing models of basin geometry and type

·         Developing 2D models using seismic, gravity and magnetic data

·         Coordinating and writing reports

·         Visiting and interacting with clients (including international travel)
